Why prepare today?
The world is changing rapidly. Between geopolitical tensions, increasingly frequent natural disasters, and the risk of infrastructure disruptions (electricity, water, networks), authorities are now encouraging citizens to be prepared for emergency situations.
In France, the government recommends that every household have an emergency kit that can last for at least 72 hours of self-sufficiency in the event of a major crisis. This period corresponds to the critical first hours during which emergency services may be overwhelmed or have difficulty responding.
An emergency kit should contain the essentials for vital needs:
- drinking water (approximately 6 liters per person for three days),
- non-perishable food,
- a first aid kit,
- a battery-powered radio,
- a flashlight,
- essential medications and documents.
These official recommendations show one simple thing: preparation is no longer an extreme idea, but a matter of common sense.
Having a survival kit at home allows you to:
- protect your family during the first hours of a crisis,
- remain self-sufficient if essential services are interrupted,
- gain precious time in case of urgent evacuation.
Preparing is not giving in to fear.
It is simply anticipating the unexpected and protecting those who matter most.
